Paris Saint-Germain is getting a head start on the competition after Julian Draxler implored Mesut Ozil to leave Arsenal and move to the French capital.
Ozil’s future in north London has been in doubt throughout the season as he approaches the final year of his contract without a new deal in place.
Although a new contract with Arsenal remains a possibility after Ozil hinted at talks over an improved deal, a move to a PSG squad loaded with talent could suit the 28-year-old.
“I would love to play with him every day,” Draxler told BBC World Service.
“For me, he’s a great player. I enjoy to play with him for every training, every match with the German national team.”
PSG’s run of three successive Ligue 1 titles ended Wednesday with AS Monaco’s league-clinching victory over Saint-Etienne. Draxler believes Ozil has the potential to provide the capital outfit with an injection of talent capable of propelling it back to the summit.
