Guardiola unsure whether Ederson will be fit to face Liverpool

Ederson appears to be in a race against time to face Premier League title challengers Liverpool on Sunday.

The Manchester City goalkeeper was replaced by Claudio Bravo at halftime of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Atalanta with a muscular issue, and Pep Guardiola is waiting to hear news on the severity of the injury.

“I don’t know right now. It was a muscular problem; it was not big but he did not feel comfortable in the last minutes of the first half,” Guardiola replied post-match when asked if Ederson would be available for the Anfield trip, according to The Telegraph’s James Ducker.

“But honestly, at the moment, I don’t know (how serious it is).”

More to come.
