Manchester City has confirmed that their striker Sergio Aguero will undergo tests after injury in a road accident.
European media reports emerged in the early hours of Friday morning that Aguero had broken his ribs when his taxi crashed into a bulb.
Argentine injury on the ribs will now be assessed by English club physicians.
“Sergio Aguero will be assessed by club doctors after being involved in a road accident on Thursday,” a statement said at the club’s official website.
“City striker was in Holland on his day off and suffered injuries.”
“He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked before Chelsea’s next game,” concludes City’s statement.
Media sources in his homeland suggest that the 29-year-old will remain out of the field for two months, starting from meeting Napoli with the Champions League group.
