Mourinho's public training session breaks lockdown protocol

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho organized a small training session at a local park with three of his players Tuesday in north London despite clear social distancing guidelines that prohibit activities with others.

Mourinho and his players were reminded of their responsibilities after word reached Tottenham officials that he had led a session in public, according to The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick.

Mourinho was spotted in official club gear with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in Barnet, while defenders Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon were pictured running in close proximity to each other along a road.

Current health regulations only allow people in the U.K. to exercise outdoors either alone or with members of their household. Everyone must maintain at least two meters of distance between each other at all times.

The government also banned public gatherings of more than two people in late March.

Mourinho recently held a virtual training session with the majority of his players to keep them in shape during the work stoppage. The Premier League is currently suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic.
