Report: Dortmund suspend Sancho for returning late from international duty

Borussia Dortmund have suspended Jadon Sancho for one match after the winger returned late from international duty with England, according to DW Sports.

The ban means the 19-year-old won’t be available for Dortmund’s crucial encounter with Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Sancho, who scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists last season, is enjoying yet another impressive campaign in Germany, notching three goals and five assists in seven Bundesliga appearances.

The decision to suspend Sancho comes as Dortmund is attempting to rebound from a lackluster start to the season against a Gladbach side that sits atop the Bundesliga table.

Monchengladbach lead the league with 16 points through seven matches, while Dortmund sit in ninth with 12 points.
