Salah: I've improved at everything since 1st Premier League spell

Mohamed Salah is ready to surprise critics when he returns to the Premier League next season with Liverpool.

The Egyptian international made a poor impression during his first stint in England’s top flight during a frustrating spell with Chelsea.

He was eventually shipped off to Roma, where he revived his career through a successful two-year spell in the Italian capital before agreeing to join the Reds for a club-record €42-million fee.

In his first interview since joining Liverpool, Salah indicated he’s undergone a dramatic transformation since his first taste of the Premier League.

“100 percent, yes,” Salah responded when asked if he returns to England as a better player.

“Everything (has improved). Even my personality was different, I was a kid – I was 20 or 21. Now I’m four years older. I have lots of experience in three clubs: I was at Chelsea, then Fiorentina (where he spent half a season on loan), and then Roma.

“I like to play here in the Premier League. I’m happy to be back and I’m excited.”

Manager Jurgen Klopp praised the 25-year-old’s versatility, as well as his hunger to improve despite the fact he’s coming off an impressive season that saw him bag 15 league goals and provide 11 assists.

“Mohamed has the perfect mix of experience and potential – this is a really exciting signing for us,” Klopp said.

“His pace is incredible, he gives us more attacking threat, and we are already strong in this area. I like that he will make it even more competitive. Most important though, for us, is that he is hungry, willing and eager to be even better and improve further.

“He believes in what we are trying to do here at Liverpool and is extremely keen to be part of it.”
