Southampton red-faced as Leicester score 5 goals in ruthless 1st half

Pray for Southampton.

Leicester City scored five goals at St. Mary’s – including three in the first 19 minutes of play – to heap more misery on Ralph Hassenhutl’s side.

Southampton entered Friday’s match winless in their last four Premier League matches, but no one could have expected the carnage that would ensue.

Ben Chilwell slotted home in the 10 minute to set the rout in motion. VAR then detected Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand had tackled Ayoze Perez in the build-up with a high boot and ordered referee Andre Marriner to produce a red card.

Down to 10 men, Leicester capitulated, allowing Youri Tielemans, Perez, and Jamie Vardy to score. Perez scored his first two goals as a Leicester player.
