Vardy's scoring streak ends at 8 matches as Leicester slip up

Jamie Vardy has to start from scratch.

The Leicester City star was held off the scoresheet in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Norwich City, ending his incredible run of eight consecutive Premier League matches with at least one goal.

Going into the clash with the Canaries, the veteran Englishman had scored 11 times in eight games, dating back to Oct. 19.

The 32-year-old thought he had extended his streak in the opening half when his flicked header ricocheted off Tim Krul and into the net. However, upon review, the tally was ruled as an own goal by the Dutch ‘keeper; Vardy’s effort would’ve gone wide of the target were it not for the deflection off Krul.

Vardy was closing in on his own Premier League record of 11 consecutive matches with a goal, which he set during the Foxes’ indelible run to the title during the 2015-16 season.

Still the league’s top scorer, he’ll look to get back on track next weekend against Manchester City.

Leicester, meanwhile, are now 10 points adrift of Liverpool for top spot.
