From Burkina Faso’s bench, to the pitch, and back to the bench again, Prejuce Nakoulma experienced an interesting first half Wednesday.
Named as a substitute for Burkina Faso’s Group A fixture against Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations, Nakoulma was called upon in the 11th minute, replacing Jonathan Pitroipa, who appeared to twist an ankle and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher.
Then, in the 22nd minute, a clearance that was only intended to relieve pressure turned into a counter-attack, as Johann Obiang panicked under pressure and squandered a header. Nakoulma raced though, shook off two defenders, and, despite appearing to have held on to the ball for too long, managed to shunt it past Didier Ovono.
In the best celebration yet at the Africa Cup of Nations, Nakoulma then headed back to the bench and took a seat in the coolest fashion imaginable.
