Stevan Jovetic knows how to make a good first impression.
On Thursday, only two days after joining Sevilla on loan from Internazionale, Jovetic scored on his debut for the Andalusian club. Taking the pitch in the second leg of the tie between Jorge Sampaoli’s side and Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey’s round of 16, the Montenegrin attacker volleyed a cross from Sergio Escudero past Kiko Casilla in the 53rd minute.
A 3-3 draw at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan wasn’t enough for Sevilla, as Real Madrid advanced to the Copa del Rey’s quarter-finals with a 6-3 win on aggregate. The result set a Spanish record of 40 fixtures unbeaten in all competitions.
