Manchester United and Villarreal to meet in Europa League final

This season’s Europa League final is locked in.

Manchester United strolled into the showpiece match despite a 3-2 loss in Thursday’s second leg against Roma, ultimately beating the Italian side 8-5 on aggregate thanks to a dominant showing in the opening fixture last week.

The Red Devils will meet Villarreal on May 26 as Unai Emery eliminated his old club Arsenal after a goalless draw in London. The Yellow Submarine advanced 2-1 on aggregate after winning the first leg a week ago.

The Europa League final will be played at the Gdansk Stadium in Poland.

More to come.
